Join Reach as a Software Engineer
This is a chance to build the product that will define how companies grow in the AI era.
You'll build the core systems that power Reach's AI agents, the autonomous systems that execute complex growth strategies for some of the best tech companies in the world. This is not a "call APIs and wrap them in a UI" role. You'll be designing the architecture, data pipelines, and agent orchestration that make our product actually work.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a scrappy, ambitious, and lean founding team with exceptionally high standards. You will define our technical trajectory and shape the very fabric of our company!
About Reach
At Reach we're building the operating system to help companies monitor and control their visibility in AI search. We combine our platform, custom AI agents, and the top 1% of hands-on experts in organic growth (SEO & AEO) to help companies show up when buyers are researching and comparing solutions on Google and inside AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, and turn that visibility into pipeline and revenue.
We reached ~$450k ARR in the first 6 months, basically bootstrapped, growing fast, and targeting $5M ARR by the end of 2026. We've been doing this for companies like ColdIQ ($7M ARR, #1 Clay worldwide sales agency), Indie Campers ($140M+ ARR), Carro, Fidelidade, Fraudio, Noxus and others.
A few recent results:
Helped ColdIQ generate $506k in ARR in the first 4 months of working together, with SEO and AI search becoming their #1 traffic source
Grew Indie Campers' organic revenue by 8.8% YoY and AI search revenue by 254% in 5 months
Got Carro recommended in competitive AI prompts like "best Mirakl alternative," consistently generating leads from AI recommendations.

Our founders have already a proven track record of building and scaling fast growing tech companies. Jose Velez (CEO), was the solo founder & CEO of Rely.io, an internal developer portal used by top engineering orgs like ESPN Bet and Feedzai, and have launched AI products that reached #1 Product of the Day and #1 AI Product of the month on Product Hunt. He raised $3.6M from top-tier firms like J12 Ventures, Shilling Capital Partners, TechstarsNYC, and TheVentureCity, as well as from notable angels.
Jose Pedro Nunes (CTO) has a track record of building and scaling world class engineering orgs. at high growth tech companies. He was the former VP of Engineering at Unbabel and Head of Engineering at BeReal and Sky.
Bernardo Ferreira, (founding AI search strategist), also led the strategy behind more than 250M organic visits and €100M in revenue attributed to SEO at Worten (think Iberian Amazon) in 2024.
📍 Location
We care a lot about building things together, in person.
This is an in-person role based in New York City.
The product engineering team is in Lisbon, and we're going to start building a US presence. You'll be Reach's face in the US market, with regular travel to Lisbon and to customer/conference locations.
If you’re exceptional, we can also make an exception and you can join the team in Lisbon and we’ll figure out whether we can sponsor your visa to the US or if you can work from the Lisbon hub with regular travel to the US.
The Role
We're a small team moving fast, and we need engineers who think like product builders, people who start with the customer problem, then figure out the engineering solution.
You'll be one of the first engineers on the team. You'll own features end-to-end, from the first line of code to production. Ownership is the default here. You'll talk to users, ship fast, break things sensibly, and help shape how we build.

What We're Looking For
Product-first engineering mindset You think about problems as customer problems first. You ask "should we build this?" before "how do we build this?" You care about the outcome, not just the output.
Strong engineering foundations You understand how software actually works, data structures, system design, APIs, databases. You have solid instincts and the ability to reason about tradeoffs.
Fluent with AI-assisted development You use AI coding tools every day. You know how to get the most out of them, where they fail you, and when to trust your own judgment over theirs.
Full-stack generalist You're comfortable moving across the stack. You bring enough depth to go deep when needed, enough breadth to keep moving when context shifts.
What Good Looks Like
You've shipped real products that real people use
You have at least 3 years of professional engineering experience
You have opinions about how software should be built
You get excited about problems, not just solutions
You're direct about what you know and what you're still figuring out
You're based in Lisbon or willing to relocate

This is an in-office role, five days a week — Lisbon. We believe great early-stage teams are built in the same room.
The product is early. Some things are rough. That's the opportunity.
