Content Engineer (SEO & AI Search) at Reach AI
Join Reach as our content Engineer (focused on SEO & AI Search)!
You'll define what content engineering at the highest level looks like, then execute it for some of the best companies in the world. You'll shape how our platform automates content workflows, deciding what scales with humans and what scales with software. And as we grow, you'll build a team to scale production without sacrificing quality.
This is not a traditional content manager role. You'll combine deep SEO knowledge, advanced AI-powered production workflows, visual design skills, and LinkedIn content expertise to produce and scale high-quality content across our entire customer portfolio and for Reach itself.
About Reach
At Reach we're building the operating system to help companies monitor and control their visibility in AI search. We combine our platform, custom AI agents, and the top 1% of hands-on experts in organic growth (SEO & AEO) to help companies show up when buyers are researching and comparing solutions on Google and inside AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, and turn that visibility into pipeline and revenue.
We reached ~$450k ARR in the first 6 months, basically bootstrapped, growing fast, and targeting $5M ARR by the end of 2026. We've been doing this for companies like ColdIQ ($7M ARR, #1 Clay worldwide sales agency), Indie Campers ($140M+ ARR), Carro, Fidelidade, Fraudio, Noxus and others.
A few recent results:
Helped ColdIQ generate $506k in ARR in the first 4 months of working together, with SEO and AI search becoming their #1 traffic source
Grew Indie Campers' organic revenue by 8.8% YoY and AI search revenue by 254% in 5 months
Got Carro recommended in competitive AI prompts like "best Mirakl alternative," consistently generating leads from AI recommendations.
You can learn more about the results we’ve been driving for our customers here.
We're turning services into software to disrupt the $100B+ SEO/AI Search market, which will get drastically bigger as search behavior shifts to AI and ad budgets follow.
🤝 The team
We're a team of founders, AI engineers, and SEO & AEO specialists passionate about creating a category defining company that moves fast and has fun doing it.
You can learn more about the team here.
Our founders have already a proven track record of building and scaling fast growing tech companies.
Jose Velez (CEO), was the solo founder & CEO of Rely.io, an internal developer portal used by top engineering orgs like ESPN Bet and Feedzai, and have launched AI products that reached #1 Product of the Day and #1 AI Product of the month on Product Hunt. He raised $3.6M from top-tier firms like J12 Ventures, Shilling Capital Partners, TechstarsNYC, and TheVentureCity, as well as from notable angels.
Jose Pedro Nunes (CTO) has a track record of building and scaling world class engineering orgs. at high growth tech companies. He was the former VP of Engineering at Unbabel and Head of Engineering at BeReal and Sky.
Bernardo Ferreira, (founding AI search strategist), also led the strategy behind more than 250M organic visits and €100M in revenue attributed to SEO at Worten (think Iberian Amazon) in 2024.
📍 Location
We care deeply about building things together, in person.
The core team is in Lisbon, working out of our office with a focus on speed and collaboration. The best ideas happen at the whiteboard, not in a scheduled Zoom call.
The Opportunity: Why This Role?
"Content Engineer" is a new role. Most companies don't have one yet. You'll define what it means, how it works, and what the standard looks like. When the industry catches up, you'll have been the person who set the bar.
You'll push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-powered content production. Not "use ChatGPT to draft." Real content engineering: programmatic workflows, AI agents, production pipelines that let one person do what used to take a team of five, at higher quality.
You'll produce content for some of the best companies in the world. ColdIQ, Indie Campers, Fidelidade, Carro, Noxus, Kencko and many more. Their growth depends on the content you ship.
You'll shape the platform. Your daily work directly influences what our AI agents can do. Every workflow you build, every pattern you find, every "this should be automated" insight feeds into the product. Your expertise becomes the product.
You'll decide what scales with humans and what scales with software. That's one of the hardest and most important questions in this space right now. You'll be the person drawing that line.
Small, elite team. No bureaucracy, no middle management. Partner with founders with proven track records: CEO is a 2nd time founder who raised $3.6M (Techstars NYC '21). CTO built and led engineering at BeReal, Unbabel, and Sky.
Clear market signal. ~$450K ARR in 6 months, almost bootstrapped, from leading companies. The demand is real and the $100B+ market is getting drastically bigger as search shifts to AI.
Early-team equity. You're joining when the team is still in single digits, with a realistic path to building something massive.
The Role
We're looking for a builder-leader: someone who sets a new standard for what SEO content production looks like in the AI era, and then builds the systems and team to scale it.
You will own three things:
1. Define What Content Engineering at the Highest Level Looks Like, and Execute It
This is not about pasting a keyword into ChatGPT and editing the output. You'll build the workflows, set the bar, and ship content for some of the best companies in the world.
Build and use advanced AI content pipelines. Use Claude Code, custom agents, programmatic approaches, and whatever tools give you leverage to produce content at 5-10x the pace of a traditional content team, with higher quality. Show us your setup. If you can't walk us through your AI workflow and impress us with how you use it for research, drafting, editing, analysis, and optimization, you won't pass the interview.
Ship content that drives revenue, not just rankings. Blog posts, comparison pages, use case pages, landing pages, how-to guides, community responses for Reddit, Quora, and G2. Every piece of content is optimized for both search engines and AI models, on-brand, accurate, and genuinely useful for the target buyer.
Create visual content that gets saved and shared. LinkedIn infographics, data visualizations, carousels, comparison graphics, process diagrams. You don't just write. You design. You need a strong eye and the ability to produce polished visual content quickly using tools like Figma, Canva, or equivalent.
Write LinkedIn content that generates pipeline. Posts for Jose's personal brand, Reach's company page, and customer accounts. You understand hooks, storytelling, visual formats, and what drives B2B engagement on LinkedIn.
Set the quality bar. Excellent writer who can adapt voice and tone across different brands and industries. Deep on-page SEO knowledge: keyword placement, heading structure, internal linking, meta tags, schema markup, content structure. Every piece you ship is the reference standard for what "great" looks like.
2. Improve the Platform and Content System
Your expertise doesn't just serve customers. It becomes the product.
Be the power user who shapes the AI content tools. You'll use our AI agents daily for content production. Your feedback on what works, what's slow, and what's missing directly influences the product roadmap.
Identify what scales with humans vs. what scales with software. Some content requires editorial judgment, deep brand knowledge, and creative thinking. Some content can be templated, automated, or generated programmatically. You'll help us draw that line correctly, and push it further every month.
Build workflows that scale. Create templates, processes, and automations that let you produce 15-20 pieces of optimized content per month across multiple customer accounts without dropping quality. Document everything so it's transferable.
Close the loop with Strategy and Engineering. Work with the Senior Growth Strategist to translate content briefs and action plans into finished, published content. Feed patterns back to Engineering: what should the agents handle, what needs human attention, and where the gaps are.
Push the boundaries of programmatic content. If there's a way to generate structured, high-quality pages at scale using data and templates, find it. If a content type can be partially automated, build the workflow. Always with quality as the non-negotiable.
3. Build and Lead a Team of World-Class Content Engineers
As we scale, you'll grow from individual contributor to team leader.
Recruit and develop content talent. Hire people who combine writing ability, SEO depth, AI tooling mastery, and speed. Build a team that's genuinely better than any agency's content team.
Hands-on leadership. Jump into content production, quality reviews, and customer accounts. Model excellence through action, not just direction.
Build scalable systems. Create onboarding, training, and quality assurance processes that let new team members ramp fast and produce at your standard. Maintain customer knowledge bases that power personalized content generation.
Manage multi-customer production. Coordinate content production across a portfolio of customers with different brands, voices, industries, and priorities. Ensure nothing slips.
Define the craft. "Content engineer" is a new role. You'll define what it means, what the career path looks like, and how the best content engineers in the world work.
Signs you’re a great fit…
You have 3+ years of experience producing SEO content for B2B/SaaS companies, with proven ranking and traffic results.
You're an excellent writer who can adapt voice and tone across different brands and industries.
You have an advanced AI workflow that goes far beyond "use ChatGPT to draft." You use Claude Code, custom agents, programmatic approaches, or similar tools, and you can show us a setup that's genuinely impressive.
You understand on-page SEO deeply: keyword placement, heading structure, internal linking, meta tags, schema markup, and content structure.
You can work with data and analytics: GSC, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush, and use them to prioritize what content to create or optimize.
You have a strong design eye and can create infographics, LinkedIn visuals, and web pages that look polished and professional.
You understand what works on LinkedIn: hooks, storytelling, visual formats, and engagement patterns.
You're fast, organized, and can manage content production across multiple customers simultaneously without dropping quality.
You use AI tools extensively and are obsessive about improving your setup.
Bonus points:
Experience with programmatic SEO or templated content at scale
Proficiency in Figma, Framer, Webflow, or similar design/web tools
Experience writing content that targets AI search visibility (structured for LLM consumption)
Technical comfort with Markdown, HTML, CSS, or light scripting
A portfolio of LinkedIn infographics or visual content you've created
Experience at a content-led agency or a startup where you owned the full content pipeline
You've built content processes or playbooks that scaled a team's output
This Isn't For Everyone (Our Culture is Demanding)
We're building something extraordinary, and that requires extraordinary commitment. We're not the right place for everyone. Before applying, ensure you're ready for:
High-Performance Environment: We move fast and expect exceptional results. If you prefer comfort over challenge, this isn't your place.
Passion-Driven Work: We're deeply passionate about our mission, which sometimes means flexible hours to deliver on our commitments.
Constant Evolution: Our technology, strategies, and processes will change frequently as we learn and grow. If you're not highly adaptable or don't enjoy constant learning, you'll struggle.
Direct & Honest Communication: We value candid, straightforward feedback. If you prefer politeness over absolute clarity, our culture might feel uncomfortable.
